If you don’t log your telephone system, you won’t know if you have been hacked until the monthly bill comes in. But with LJ logging, you can set up daily or even hourly reports and be in a position to stop hacking before it gets out of hand.
A telephone bills will break down all your outgoing calls into local national international, etc. But who made those calls and how can you charge them back to the relevant Section or User?
With LJ logging, the extensions making the call will ba associated with the dialled number so you can apportion the bills and collate all the data into one internal bill.
Fraud is any kind of unauthorised access to the system. In most cases it involves people using your system to their own ends. This includes hacking but may also be internal.
Are the extensions being diverted out of hours and used to run a business? Are there any ‘working’ extensions outside of your number range? LJ Logging will pick up all calls and let you know what is really going on.
Hacking is when someone without authorised access to your systems manages to break in and use them to their own ends.
Phishing is much the same but refers to telephone systems. In this case, the intruder breaks through your telephone security and sells calls. Mostly these will be international calls as this is how they make their money.
So, whilst the Phisher is making a packet of money, YOU are one paying the bill.
